Annyeong (Good Bye) 2013 :-)

One year is actually a LOT of time. But in the end, a year slipped by just like a wind. I felt like it's only yesterday that I have a big mission for the year of 2013. But now, 2013 is almost gone and today is the last day of December.

I feel lucky, because I've changed so much for the past 2+ years since I go to college, especially in 2013 (mostly in a good way). I'm a mega introvert person before, but this year, I pushed myself to be a little bit more open. It Is Hard, I admit it. And without the help of friends and family, it wouldn't be possible. But it's all good and it's all exciting, so I really grateful for the times passed.

Steering Committe of UKM PP Organization 2013-2014

I normally wouldn't join a student-based organization because I'm very shy and also very lazy. But since I go to college, I push myself to join some. And I'm grateful that I push myself like that. Right now, I imagine what I've been like without my organization buddy. Pretty sure I'll be a very monotone person with a very  boring life.

In UKM PP, I meet up with so many wonderful friends and best friends. And also being in a organization make me realize that in this world, there must be at least one person who need you. For example, one of the most exciting moment that I have, personally, is the rare experience to be a makeup artist for them when we were going to take our last photos in a studio. It's really fun for me, since I'm a massive beauty addict. The moment I apply makeup: the foundation, powder, and so on for them, I'll never forget that :-) It's always going to be a sweet lifetime memory for me.

About my study, this year I got a challenge for myself to make a Raspberry Py proposal which the very lucky person will go to Singapore for a student exchange program for approximately a month. Again, I feel like I'm the luckiest person in the world because I passed the test for the program and I can manage to actually go. The name of the student exchange program is TF-SCALE and we'll be going 3 months from now, at March 17th 2014.

Also very recently in december, I made a decision to rejoin SEO Academy aka Search Engine Optimization Academy. It's an online course founded by Bramantya Farid, and he is the coolest person ever that teach us how to made a SEO friendly website. I found SEO is an interesting thing to learn and I've so much fun studying in this Academy. I got some time vacuum from the Academy before, because I felt that I can't manage to handle my study, organization, as well as the Academy at the same time! But now, I think it's the perfect time to rejoin since my periode in organization is almost over.

So, that's all the best thing that's happen to me in 2013. Eventhough I love 2013, life must go on.
And for me, it's the perfect time to say

Thank You and Good Bye 2013 :-)

What's the best thing that ever happen to you in 2013? Tell me in the comments.

Prom Makeup Tips from Pro

My favourite prom makeup tips from Michelle Phan

Who doesn't know Michelle Phan? She's probably one of the biggest beauty guru ever in YouTube and she's definitely a professional in makeup. Some may call her: The Accidental Millionaire, but for me she's worth it because she plays hard to get it.

Anyway, in this post I try to gather all her makeup and beauty tips for prom, even from a week before that magical night. The first video below covers all you have to do few days before the D day that you may not yet think of: tame your acne, brighten your skin, lighten up your moustache, whiten your teeth, and more! It's so useful as a reminder for us.

The next tips is obviousy makeup. For prom, Michelle gives you the ideas of soft smokey eyes with perfect nude lips.

If you're inspired by this look, follow the tutorial in her video below. But, if this look isn't your style then go ahead to look for other inspiration. You can try to find your inspiration from magazine, beauty blogs, or beauty channel in YouTube.

The next tips on the following video is probably my most favourite. It's all the tips to look perfect on picture. So, say good bye to white cast on your face, redness, zombie eyes, and say  hello to perfectly even skin tone and beautiful bigger eyes.

The last video is a little 'out there' but I found that it could be useful sometime when you need to take a really good picture. This is the tips on posing for photos from a professional photographer that Michelle knows.

So that's all the prom makeup tips  with some little extra tips from my favourite beauty guru, Michelle Phan. I hope you enjoy those videos as much as I do and found them helpful. For more videos of her doing makeup, you can subscribe here.

One Day Experience as UKM PP Makeup Artist

Becoming a makeup artist? Never really think about it. I just enjoy makeup.

Yesterday was a very special day for Streering Committee of UKM PP. If you don't know what UKM PP is, it's a student based organization in my campus. There are 24 members of Streering Committee in the organization, and yesterday we did the last and the most memorable photo shoot of all time, the photo session in a real studio.

Very early in the morning, I already come to the secretariat office as told. There is a deal beforehand that I will do all the member's makeup. So, at that time, I brought some weapon with me :-)

I actually didn't invest on the makeup palette yet. The lancome palette in the picture is belong to my friend's mom. But the other products are from my own collection. So, without further chit chat, here is the snap shoot of all my masterpiece..

The Girls

There are 4 girls who does her makeup them self or by other friend, but mostly, I did it :-)

The guys

For the guys, easy, I just apply a little bit of powder with powder brush, and voila. Their makeup is done! If you're interested, here is also the snap of ech division. There are 4 divisions and I'm in the 2nd one.

 Daily Development Department: coming soon

1st division: Operational Intern

2nd division: Public Relation

3rd division: Discussion and Reasoning

4th division: Technology and Language

So, I hope you enjoy seeing me and my organization buddy.
PS: I'm in pink by the way, if you didn't find out yet.

This or That Makeup Tag

This or That Makeup Tag for #MakeupTagEdition

It is officially December, which mean November has gone. So, Happy New Month! =D I've been blog walking recently and I found this site called Straight Up Glam and I read This or That Makeup Tag in there. I found that it's really fun to read this type of tag and I think it's a useful makeup tag, because you're not only talking about things that you like but also why you like stuff and why you don't like the opposite. So it's quite inspiring the readers as well. Without further chit chat, here is my answers :-)

Blush or Bronzer?
Bronzer all the way, because it's more natural and I think you can never go wrong with a good bronzer.
Foundation or Concealer?
Now, I'll choose foundation but when I got a clear skin day with lesser blemishes, I'm going to pick concealer.
Lipgloss or Lipstick?
Lipgloss, because I don't really like my lipstick collection. And for younger girls, it's always nice to have a glossy lips rather than matte bold lips. It gives a hint of healthy lips. And, I'm a young girl, haha.
Eyeliner or Mascara?
Since mascara doesn't really change my straight lashes, I pick eyeliner.
Neutral or Coloured Eyeshadow?
Neutral, because it has a point to make you more acceptable.
Pressed or Loose Eyeshadow?
Never tried loose eyeshadow before, so I don't have any right to say anything about it :-P but I do like my pressed eyeshadow.
Brushes or Sponges?
Brushes, because it's easier to control.

 Long or Short?
Long, because I like it when I apply nail polishes to long nails, it just looks a lot more sophisticated.
Acrylic or Natural?
Natural, whatever it is.
Brights or Darks?
Darks because I think you can never go wrong with dark colour on your nails, when if it's bright colours, you know that it may doesn't really suits your skin tone.
Flower or no Flower?
No flower please =) I'm a student, hello. I need to keep my makeup as simple as possible.

~ BODY ~

Perfume or Body Splash?
Perfume because it's easier to use.
Lotion or Body Butter?
Body butter, it sinks in quicker than body lotion.
Body Wash or Soap?
Body wash, end of discussion >_<

Jeans or Sweat Pants?
Sweat pants, I don't really fancy jeans.
Long Sleeve or Short?
Long please, I wear hijab =)
Dresses or Skirts?
Dresses because it's easier to style.Stripes or Plaid?
Plaid, cuz it's kinda cute, especially when it has pastel color on it.
Flip Flops or Sandals?
I think sandals since it's more comfortable for me.
Scarves or Hats?
I dislike both, it's so hot here in Indonesia. But hat is more useful to stay away from the sun.
Studs or Dangly Earrings?
Earrings doesn't really matter for me. I war hijab so you can't really see whether I use a pair of them or not.
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots?
None of them, boots again are too hot to wear in Indonesia.
Jacket or Hoodie?
Hoodie all the way. I like it because it looks cute to wear.

~ HAIR ~

Curly or Straight?
Depends on my mood, hahas.
Bun or Ponytail?
Ponytail, because it's simple and cute.
Bobby Pins or Butterfly Clips?
Butterfly clips, since it's more useful.
Hair Spray or Gel?
Hair spray all the way.
Long or Short?
How about medium, hahas. I like long hair.
Light or Dark?
Dark. I never try to dye my hair into light colors anyway.
Side-swept Bangs or Full Bangs?
Side-swept. I have a wide forehead so I like to hide that fact with bangs.
Up or Down?
Down because I'm too lazy for up do =P

Rain or Shine?
Rain when I'm inside the house, and shine when I was out.
Summer or Winter?
I still never be able to see the real snow because Indonesia doesn't have winter season. We got plenty sun shine here, so winter it is.
Fall or Spring?
Fall because love the leaves color at the moment.
Chocolate or Vanilla?
Chocolate =D

My November Beauty Favorites

My High Street/ Drugstore Beauty Favorites

As a beauty addict in budget, since I'm still a student, I don't really into high end cosmetics & skin care. Mostly I just go with the high street a.k.a drugstore products. Last two months, I shared a picture in instagram, which is my first ever post in there, featured my Haul of The Month.

As you may already guess, there's just a bunch of drugstore makeup and one tool, eyebrow brush, which you can't see on the picture because it hides behind all the Maybelline Baby Lips Lippy. What I like to share with you today is my experience that made all of the products from September haul, become my favorites of this month :-) that sounds crazy but it's true.

So, here is my favorite list, I hope you guys like it.

  1. Maybelline Clear Smooth 8 in 1 BB Cream. I love this BB Cream because it glides on smoothly on top of my moisturizer. It covers imperfection a little bit, not much, so it gives a natural finish. What I like to do with this BB Cream is mix it with my Oriflame Very Me Foundation in darker shade because I got this BB Cream in too much lighter colour. And I found it mixed really well with my foundation, so I really like that. Once it mixed with the foundation and create a perfect colour, I apply it to my face and voila, it evens out my skin tone perfecly.
  2. Maybelline Baby Lips Lipbalm. Doesn't need to say a lot about it since everyone and their mom and their dog and their dog's dad on the internet rave about this already. Overall, it smells nice and it gets the job :-)
  3. Tammia Eyebrow Brush. Definitely not a brand that I ever heard of before, but it's so cheap and I never try to use eyebrow brush before. So I try out this cheap one to start with, and I like it. The brush is not so soft but it gets the job to make a natural, no-harsh looking brows.
  4. No-name Kajal Liner. It's actually my mom's but I used it lately to fill my brows, when it's actually a kajal liner. But I think it's great to double it up as a eyebrow filler. It gives a nice finish and stays really well for pretty long time. And I think becuase it contains wax. It's also waterproof and smudgeproof, which makes me like it even more.

So that's the products that I've been loving this month. Please tell me what product, especially high street, that you also been loving in the comments and I'll read those. For now, bye and I love ya ^_^

Student Exchange with Republic Polytechnic of Singapore #2

Student Exchange Program:
State Polytechnic of Malang with Republic Polytechnic of Singapore

If you read my latest blog post about student exchange program with RP, you'll know that 24 students of State Polytechnic of Malang, including me, will get selected again down to top 18. Well, it's now time to see the result :-)

Today, all of the candidates been told to go to certain room in the basement of our building. Once we all get there, the lecturers said that they'll start to mention the name of the candidate that made to go, one by one. When the list is getting nearer to an end, and I didn't hear my name being called, I become very depressed. I even whispered to one of my girl friend, "Looks like I didn't make it.." :'(

But then, miraculously I heard my name being called, at the very end of the list. And Oh My God, there was a big twist in my mood, from depressed into deeply touched. I nearly cry at the moment, but no :-P

So that is it. That's how we're all 18 going to Singapore at March 17th 2014. That's how we're end up making our own passport. That's how we begin to get to know each other more. And all of that, was a lot of fun and I can't describe how grateful I was.

So, let's end this touchy blog post here or I may start to cry. Haha, no, not really, don't worry :-D PS: here is the sneak peak of my passport photo and I hate it because I don't really like my forehead -_-

Hopefully you enjoy this post and I'll see you all again soon in my next blog post. Love ya ^_^

Student Exchange with Republic Polytechnic of Singapore #1

Student Exchange Program:
State Polytechnic of Malang with Republic Polytechnic of Singapore

So, basically in some rare, expensive rainy day, my English lecturer choose 40 Informatics students of State Polytechnic of Malang which is claimed to has decent ability in communicate using English as well as good attitude. From nowhere, it's just happen that I was lucky enough to be one of them. It happen around two weeks ago, that I as well as the other 39, receive a text message inform me to attend a Student Internship a.k.a Student Exchange Socialization. And that, is the beginning of my whole story :-)

Then of course I attend the socialization which is lead by our Head of Study Program, Mr. Yan. From the socialization I knew that whole 40 will be selected to eliminate almost half of it, remain the top 24 students to actually go there.

I have a great hope to come. That's why when they come up with the challenge to make a Raspberry Pi proposal, I said, "Right, I'm gonna do this!" So, everything's working on great and I can submit my proposal before the challenge ended.

At some another expensive rainy day, a text message inform me to go to certain room in the basement of my current building in State Polytechnic of Malang. And that time I just had a feeling that I made it, I can go to Singapore! And it is, I made it. But they said that they're not a 100% sure that the whole 24 will go, it's all depend on what happen on October 2nd.

Last Wednesday, on October 2nd, the 24 students have a chance to meet the people from Singapore which is: Mr. Dexton, Ms. Sharmila Kana, and also two boys from School of Infocomm: Lim Shun Yong and Wei Zhang.

At the moment, we got the chance to get to know each other, talk, and ask them anything about the Student Exchange program or even about Singapore itself. We have such a great time. I especially happen to talk to them in person. I don't really know what's going on but I did push myself to talk, whatever it is. My English is my biggest problem in here, because Indonesian didn't talk English daily. But today, that day there's no problem so I'm sure I can do this.

Sadly, they announced that not everyone will go. They will choose top 18 from 24 students. I can only hope for a miracle. If I made it then great, if I didn't then I will congratulate everybody like nothing is ever happen in my life :-)

Oh, and last but not least, here is my Face of The Day at the moment. Oriflame foundation and concealer on my face, and  that's about it :-)

That's all that I can share with you at the moment. If you like to know my next journey, please stay tuned on my next blog post. Love ya ^_^

My Back to School Makeup Essentials

So, tomorrow is D day for another study day. My fifth semester of University will start in a couple hours. How exciting! As a beauty addict, when I start to think about back to school, I will also think about my makeup/ beauty essentials. To me, makeup essentials were both which I wear and I keep in my makeup bag for a little touch up during the day.

  • BB Cream
This semester I will go for as-natural-as-possible makeup look. I think makeup for school must be natural, fresh, but still look radiant to keep me look healthy. I used to use foundation to school, but start from tomorrow, I will use BB cream instead. Since it's so light and has a watery-like consistency, BB cream will give a flawless natural finish. Mine is from Maybelline.

  • Baby Lips Lipbalm
My other makeup or beauty or cosmetic essentials (how mouthful is that?) which also from Maybelline is the baby lips lip balm. I have massively dry lips especially during the colder months so I will need a lipbalm in my makeup bag. I heard so many good thing about Maybelline Baby Lips Lipbalm, and I happen to know that Macbarbie07 aka Bethany Mota love it, so I'm excited to put it on my makeup essentials. I have 3 of them and none of them have been opened yet. But excited to try that tomorrow!

  • Eyelash Curler
Now maybe you think it's weird to put Eyelash Curler in my makeup essentials, but as an Asian girl, I don't have eyelashes as big as you guys who may not Asian. That's why without this baby my eyes will not look awake enough.

  • Eyeliner Pencil & Mascara
Because liquid or pen liner will be a little tricky to use for touch up, I rather bring pencil liner with me to school. And for mascara, just bring any mascara that you enjoy to use. My favorite at the moment is Oriflame Fatlash Blackout Mascara. I find that mascara with plastic brush is easier to use than the bristle one. Besides, it also gives a natural finish (which I like) and doesn't make my eyelashes look clumpy.

  • Lipstick or Liptint
Well, if you're lucky enough and you can get your hands on Maybelline Baby Lips US version, you probably don't need lipstick or liptint anymore. But sadly, for what I called Maybelline Baby Lips Asian version, is only available in clear shade means it's purely a lipbalm. So, I will also bring some lipstick in my makeup bag. At the moment I love coral colour for lips, so I will bring my Oriflame Pure Colour Lipstick in shade Coral.

  • Garnier Brightening Eye Roll-On
I like to keep Eye Roll-On from Garnier in my makeup bag because we'll never know when we suddenly feel tired and sleepy during class. This thing will keep you awake and for me it's the best little "pick me up" when I feel so sleepy.

  • Tender Care
Well, I'm not sure if it will count as back to school makeup essentials because I will use it at night before. It is the Oriflame Tender Care Cherry. I apply this before bed as an overnight treatment and when I wake up, my lips will feel oh-so-soft and ready for the day.

  • Body Spray/ Perfume
I almost forgot about this one but now I remember that I think it's important to keep your body smell nice all day. If you prefer something that has a soft smell, try to use body spray, but if you like something a little bit stronger, use perfume.

  • Hand Cream
If you're like me and you had a granny-like hand, then you need a hand cream in your makeup bag. Just to make sure that your hand feels soft, especially when you're about to shake your hand with some new friends :-)

So, what's your back to school makeup essentials, girls?
Any other ideas for me? :-)
